2010 New Mexico Brew Fest

A new and allegedly annual beer festival will be throwing its inaugural event on October 2nd, 2010, the New Mexico Brew Fest.

Last year we had Marble’s Septemberfest at the end of September, and though I’ve not heard official word, it is still supposed to be happening. The NM Brew Fest is a definite go, however, and we picked up our half-off tickets a couple weeks back at the Early Bird Ticket Party at Marble on the 12th.

For a state with such low population density, I’m quite proud of the effort put forth by the folks in the craft beer scene here, keeping interest up and spreading their knowledge of good beer.

Incidentally, this Brew Fest occurs on the opening day of the 2010 International Balloon Fiesta which really is international. The balloons fill the skies like floating bowling balls up and down the valley, and people come from all over the world to this thing. It’ll be great to have people from outside our little state experiencing some local beers. Really looking forward to this one!
